Commuting and Relaxing!

In the early weeks of our move we were only staying in Yungaburra for a few days each week, spending most of the time in Cairns, where lots of finishing jobs and cleaning needed to be done before the house could go up for sale. (I will make a special post about Harris Street with the last pictures taken).
So every time we would come up again we would have a full load in Sven's van, and the trailer (still behind the Subaru), transporting everything from small furniture, boxes and plants. Then unload everything, relax  (or work on some other projects) and go down again to pick up "another load". We managed 7 big loads in 7 weeks...
Then Joel helped us over a weekend, to move up heavier and bigger furniture (including our bed and a sofa, so we would be more comfortable), and heaps… of boxes in his Ford Transit.
We so appreciated his help, Thanks Joel!
We then took the time  to enjoy his company for a couple of days. We launched the tinny in the lake (where it now parks 100m from our land and we can hop in anytime we want) .
We then went for a peek at our neighbours' houses from the lake.

Lots of nice properties but we think ours is the best!

And it wouldn't have been fair if we didn't take him skurfing.

Here I come

Sven and Joel had some fun shooting with bow and arrows… You can only do this when you have a large block of land and no neighbours… Yes! We qualify.

That night we had a big bon-fire with all the dead branches that the previous owners had left lying around the place, and gazed at the stars… Magical!

We eventually stayed longer in Yungaburra than in Cairns, and couldn't wait to come back home after going once a week (and a day trip only) to check on Harris Street.

Home sweet home!
