About Us

G'day! Bonjour! Hej!

I was born and raised in New Caledonia and came to Australia in 1973. I have 3 sons and  3 beautiful grandchildren. I lived in Sydney, NSW, for 16 years, then in Cairns, for 21 years.

 In 2003 I met a wonderful man, Sven, who was born in Stockholm, but grew up in Gotland, Sweden, and came to Australia in 1982. He has one son and one daughter  and three adorable grandchildren.

We are partners, best friends, soul mates,  proud to be Australians, and have a dog named Freja as companion.

In 2011 we moved to Yungaburra (Cairns Tablelands).

Who would have known that this quaint little town, which we drove through so many times in the past, would become our new residence. We'd commented every time at how nice it would be to live here… Well wishes do come true and we never get sick of appreciating our new location and think it's the best place in the world.

Simple country life,  but still in a residential area, is what strongly appeal to us. Our closest neighbours are the dairy cows 3 days each month who look at us inquisitively and try to poke their heads over the fence to munch on our grass! With close access to Lake Tinaroo, our little tinny takes us fishing for red claws and exploring.

We've been busy making our home even better than what it was. Sven being a builder made this easier! And I got stuck in the garden growing vegetables and weeding…! We love to create new things, especially using pre-loved materials and believe in "why buy it when you can make it…"
